Order Types

Order type parameters control how your entry and exit orders are executed on the exchange.

Entry Order Types​

entry_order_type​

  • Type: string

  • Required: No

  • Default: MARKET

  • Allowed Values: MARKET, LIMIT, LIMIT_MAKER, STOP_LOSS_MARKET, STOP_LOSS_LIMIT

  • LIMIT_MAKER is a post-only limit entry (time in force GTX).

  • STOP_LOSS_MARKET / STOP_LOSS_LIMIT are stop entries that trigger at entry_price.

  • With a limit or stop entry, the position size is calculated from entry_price; with MARKET, from the current price.

MARKET: Execute immediately at best available price

entry_order_time_in_force_type​

  • Type: string

  • Required: No

  • Default: GTC

  • Allowed Values: GTC, IOC, FOK, GTX (post-only)

  • GTC (Good Till Cancel): Order remains until filled or cancelled

  • IOC (Immediate or Cancel): Fill immediately, cancel remainder

  • FOK (Fill or Kill): Fill completely or cancel entirely

Exit Order Types​

exit_order_type​

  • Type: string
  • Required: No
  • Default: market (stop-market and take-profit-market orders)
  • Allowed Values: MARKET, LIMIT, LIMIT_MAKER, STOP_LOSS_LIMIT, LIMIT_REDUCE

Controls how stop loss and take profit orders are executed. Any of the limit values places limit-type stop-loss and take-profit orders; LIMIT_REDUCE places the take profit as a reduce-only limit order.

exit_order_time_in_force_type​

  • Type: string
  • Required: No
  • Default: GTC
  • Allowed Values: GTC, IOC, FOK, GTX

Time in force for exit orders.

Chase Orders​

chase_order_type​

  • Type: string
  • Required: No
  • Allowed Values: QUEUE, OPPONENT
  • Supported on: Binance (spot and USDⓈ-M futures)

Lets the exchange price a limit order relative to the order book instead of at entry_price:

  • QUEUE: join your own side of the book (best bid for a buy, best ask for a sell)
  • OPPONENT: price at the opposite side of the book, which fills like a taker order

chase_exit_order_type​

  • Type: string
  • Required: No
  • Allowed Values: QUEUE, OPPONENT

The same for limit exit orders.
